Technology & Audio

Our new pickup system beats the piezo pickup.

Unfortunately, conventional e-violins (with piezo technology) fail to meet sound quality needs.  For this reason we developed a completely new electromagnetic pickup—the first real humbucker for e-fiddles!TA_Nr46_Detail Our patented pickups, branded Viodukt, transmit the sound of stringed-instruments ideally, featuring:

  • authentic, natural violin sound

  • wide dynamic range

  • no feedback, even at high volume levels

  • no background noise

  • no bowing noise

  • splendid playability

Listen for yourself! (Sound sample available below.)

  • the Viodukt pick-ups were developed in cooperation with Häussel Pickups and are handcrafted for us. They are adjustable in height; each string can be adjusted individually as needed.

  • the steel strings were especially developed in cooperation with the string manufacturer, Pyramid.

  • our active electronics come equipped with additional features:

◦    6 frequency presets (from dark to light)

◦    these can be combined with 3 different degrees of intensity
◦    this allows for 18 combinations (from deep and soft to brilliant and hard)
◦    the Löffler e-strings are powered by two 3V baby-cell batteries
(battery life time: 500 hrs.)

Intelligente Technologie: Made in Germany!

TA_Nr50_Detail From its very beginning the development of Löffler e-strings has met the most exacting demands for quality and sound.
In numerous experiments the electronics were continuously optimised , leading to expanded sound capabilities. Also the collaboration with the experienced manufacturer of e-guitars, Stevens Guitars, proved to have a most productive influence on Löffler e-strings. Incidentally, the only string detail not made in Germany is the string tuner. They are sourced from Gotoh in Japan. For only Gotoh fine tuners combine extreme smallness and lightness with incredibly precise fine tuning transmission.

In this sample the Löffler e-strings can be heard in a typical live performance situation. We have created a realistic audio situation using sustain and delay functions sparingly: This is what your audience hears.
